Scott Ryan

One word that can describe Scott Ryan is “passionate!” Scott has been speaking since he was seventeen years old to churches, youth groups, camps, conferences, and retreats. He has spoken in many states as well as five different countries.  He is a gifted communicator of the Gospel who has been called by God to teach the Word. His delivery is energetic, fun, and intelligent. Scott feels a call to minister especially to youth and college-aged students in the United States and around the world. His goal is accurate biblical interpretation in context and a practical application to the lives of young and old alike. God has called Scott to preach salvation and make life-long disciples of Jesus Christ. He speaks on a number of topics including salvation, discipleship, service, social justice, and many others. You will find Scott to be authentic, honest, very down to earth, wise beyond his years, and willing to truly serve students and ministers.

Scott is originally from the town of Mount Pleasant, NC, near Concord and Charlotte. He began following Christ at the age of 16 and answered God’s call to full-time vocational ministry at the age of 17. After graduating from high school in 1999 he attended Gardner-Webb University, located in Boiling Springs, NC. Scott graduated in May of 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies, a minor in Koine Greek, and an interdisciplinary minor in Art. Since beginning college, Scott has been mentored by Matt and Clayton. He currently lives in Durham, NC attending Duke University Divinity School, where he is working on a Masters of Divinity degree. Scott hopes to study New Testament and ethics in order to write and teach future ministers at the college level.

ENDORSEMENTS

  • Andrew J. Byers, Director of Student Ministries, Gardner-Webb University
"Presenting the heart and mind of God is terrifying, holy work. Scott Ryan, as much as any speaker I know, approaches this task with a rare sense of joyful reverence that should be the norm for all those who speak in God's name. He is profoundly conscientious in his preparatory study of Scripture, meticulously searching the details of the text, yet his presentation of truth is conveyed in an enthusiastic, relevant way that reaches the hearts of the hearers. I most highly recommend him as a proclaimer of precious truth."
  • Clayton King, Founder/President, Crossroads Worldwide
" I have known Scott personally for 7 years. Not only is a he a good friend, he is a trusted brother in Christ. Having been in the same community with Scott, I have seen his life: his integrity, his character, his personal relationships, and his love for Christ. Scott is a man I would trust in any situation. He is a tremendous teacher and preacher. He loves the Bible. He is passionate and authentic, and I recommend him over and over for people who need a young man who knows how to communicate God's heart to people's hearts."
  • Matt Orth, Lead Teaching Elder of Broad River Community Church
"Here are the things I look for in a man who communicates God's Word: a spirit of love, a correct handling of truth, a clear presentation, and most of all, an authenticity that flows from a life that follows Jesus. Scott Ryan embodies all these qualities."
  • Dr. Ronald W. Williams, Chair, Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy, Gardner-Webb University
“I have known Scott for approximately four years as he has completed a Major in Religious Studies at Gardner-Webb University and now as he continues to pursue avenues of higher education. I have been his professor and friend during this process.  Having experienced a call to ministry, Scott takes very seriously the preparation necessary to fulfill that call…He is highly motivated and often excels at the highest level…He is smart and is a hard worker…The efforts Scott has made toward responsibly meeting the challenges of education and ministry are to be commended as well.”
  • Robert L. Winter, Minster to Students, Northside Baptist Church, Tifton, GA
“Scott did a great job.  His messages were right on target and very good.  I had many good comments from the youth and parents.  I also appreciated him hanging out with the kids and not just “performing” his sermons…I have had people come and just do their thing and not hang out and even talk much with the kids. Scott is a great guy.  Would love to have him on my staff.”
