"The Word of God is packed from cover to cover with Characters; real people in real situations interacting with God and His creation in stories that have been written
down for us to know and learn from. We see their faults and their triumphs, their wisdom and their folly. . .but we also see ( if we're looking for it ) that the Word of God
does not just show us characters but it shows what CHARACTER really is. We see what makes a person a person, but more importantly, we see what makes a child
of God a child of God.
ETHOS is the Greek form of character, it can be used to describe the moral strength of a person or their defining qualities. It also can be used to
describe the types of traits that are most valued in a community.
The ETHOS of the Church, the community of God's people, or as we would like to say it, the community
\of God's redeemed characters is defined by the life of Jesus Christ. Join us this summer as we pursue the ETHOS of Christ and learn what it means to be characters in
God's story growing up into the character of His Son." |
